Dallas Morning News editor retires.

Dallas Morning News Executive Vice President and Editor Ralph Langer , who joined the paper in 1981, retires.... After 25 years with Patuxent Publishing, a group of 13 Maryland weeklies, Executive Editor Tom Graham steps down. The newspaper group was acquired by the Baltimore Sun in September 1997. Graham is ``looking at several interesting options."... Former Miami Herald Publisher David Lawrence Jr. joins the faculty of Florida International University. A champion of civic causes, Lawrence will work with professors to promote research and policy analysis of child development issues.... Derek McGinty , a former correspondent for CBS' ``Public Eye with Bryant Gumbel," takes his reporting skills back to D.C., where he once hosted NPR 's ``Derek McGinty Show" from WAMU 's studios. This time, McGinty joins ABC affiliate WJLA-TV to anchor a weekend morning show, report for various news programs and soon co-host a political issues show with WJLA evening anchor Kathleen Matthews .
