Too Good to Omit

From a December 20 "NBC Nightly News" report on problems with out-of-control carry-on items on airline flights:

NBC's Robert Hager reporting: "A ficus tree, like this. Others tell of TVs like this brought on, or lawn chairs, even live chickens. And you won't believe the carry-on flight attendant Patty Garan dealt with."

Garan: "A dead person. Yeah, their mother was probably about five-four, so she wasn't that tall, but she was in a--a bag and put in an overhead bin..."

Hager: "So, it's traveler beware in a season full of surprises, not only under the tree but in the overhead bins as well..."

Anchor Tom Brokaw: "I know--I know what you're thinking. We have not been able to actually confirm the dead mother in the overhead bin story. But it was too good to leave out."
