New Girl in Town

AJR enthusiastically applauds the move of Chris Harvey into its managing editor slot. Harvey, someone AJR Editor Rem Rieder would surely call "a great American," takes the position after a short stint as an assistant editor. Harvey previously served as an associate editor at washingtonpost.com, where she helped revamp the Metro section and build a Community Resources section. Before her life online, she spent five years teaching at the University of Maryland College of Journalism and editing student copy at its Capital News Service bureaus in Annapolis and Washington, D.C. Harvey, 40, also covered the statehouse and congressional beats for six years for the Washington Times.
