Alan D. Miller, who has worked for the Columbus Dispatch for 19 years, was bumped up the chain of command to managing editor in January.

Miller, the paper's assistant managing editor/days since 2000 and before that a state editor and assistant city editor, replaces Mary Lynn Plageman, who stepped down from the position approximately a year ago. She's now the Dispatch's editor for special projects.

"We want to provide our readers with stories that are accurate, interesting, relevant and exciting," Miller, 44, says, adding that his job is keeping the readers involved in the paper and making the Dispatch relevant to them.
