54% men

46% women

23% 18- to 34-year-olds

52% 35- to 54-year-olds

75% in households with $50,000+ income

88% in households with a computer

29% say they're conservative or very conservative politically

30% say they're middle-of-the-road

31% say they're liberal or very liberal

NPR listeners are twice as likely (or more) as the average American to visit museums and go to the theater; go downhill skiing, backpacking and bird watching; get involved in civic issues; and practice yoga. More than a quarter of the listeners never watch prime time television.
