Don Russell, aka Joe Sixpack, offers up a list of 11 great American beers, in no particular order:

Victory HopDevil IPA. Possibly the world's greatest IPA.

Troegs Troegenator Double Bock. Huge malt flavor.

Russian River Supplication. Funky wild yeast produces layers of flavor.

Sierra Nevada Bigfoot Ale. Big malt and hops, for cellaring.

Schneider-Brooklyner Hopfen-Weisse. Garrett Oliver's collaboration beer with Bavaria's G. Schneider and Sohn.

Unibroue La Fin du Monde. Canada's part of America, right? Sparkling and strong.

Yards Extra Special Ale. A Philly favorite, served on a hand pump.

Jolly Pumpkin Oro de Calabaza. An authentic French farmhouse-style ale from Michigan.

Hampshire Special Ale. Balanced but strong IPA.

Arcadia London Porter. Very drinkable dark beer.

Penn Pilsner. Refreshing with a smooth body.
