In making hires from print journalism, Dave Kansas , editor in chief of TheStreet.com , looks for "someone who is a creative thinker, is aggressive, but also has a strong sense of why newspaper journalism is strong." His latest catch? The financial news site's executive editor, Jonathan Krim , formerly assistant managing editor at the San Jose Mercury News . Krim, who had worked for the Merc since 1983, says TheStreet.com has "really good core values," and he stresses the importance of business and financial journalism. "If we can bring the same level of enterprising reporting," he says, "to help level the playing field between the relatively few who have all the insider information and the rest of us, we're going to be performing a huge public service." Krim, 45, replaces Jamie Heller , who was promoted to editor, strategic ventures. ###
