Chicago's WMAQ-TV anchor Robin Meade win-wins, going national with CNN's revamped Headline News while shedding a grueling weekend schedule for a sweet daytime weekday shift. Meade, a former Miss America semifinalist and Ohio native, says CNN called her on the suggestion of a former colleague at Miami's WSVN-TV. She started at WMAQ six years ago as morning anchor. In 1998, promoted to weekends and afraid she and her husband would never get to see their families in Ohio, she agreed to host the Saturday and Sunday morning shows plus the 5 and 10 p.m. newscasts. She reported on Mondays, and recuperated from Tuesday through Friday. She was so popular among some fans that she inspired several Web sites, says Chicago Sun-Times television and radio columnist Robert Feder, including one called "Can't Get Enough of Robin Meade." ###
