After three years as vice president and news director of NBC affiliate WXIA-TV in Atlanta, David Roberts moves back to his native Detroit. Roberts replaces Dan Salamone as news director at WXYZ-TV/Channel 7 in Southfield, Michigan, a Detroit suburb. Station Manager Michael Kronley says Roberts is "one of, if not the best, news director in the country.... And when we realized we had an opportunity to hire him, we went after him." Salamone becomes director of new media.... Oakland's KTVU-TV brings in local comedian and occasional journalist Mark Pitta to co-host the Fox station's a.m. show, "Mornings on 2." ###
