Fourteen journalists died in Iraq between March 22 and late April. Six were killed due to Iraqi fire, four by "friendly" fire, three in unrelated accidents and one by a medical condition that may have been aggravated by cramped traveling with the troops.

March 22 -- Terry Lloyd, a correspondent for Britain's Independent Television News, was killed when his vehicle came under fire in southern Iraq. That afternoon, Paul Moran, a freelance cameraman for Australian Broadcasting Corp., was killed by a suicide bomb attack in northern Iraq.
March 30 -- Gaby Rado, a correspondent for ITN, apparently fell to his death from his hotel roof in northern Iraq.
April 2 -- Kaveh Golestan, an Iranian freelance cameraman for the BBC, died when he stepped on a landmine in northern Iraq.
April 3 -- Michael Kelly, editor at large of The Atlantic Monthly, died when the Humvee he was traveling in came under enemy fire and crashed near Baghdad.
April 6 -- Kamaran Abdurazaq Muhamed, a Kurdish translator working with the BBC, died when an American warplane bombed a convoy of U.S. special forces and Kurdish fighters in a friendly-fire incident in northern Iraq. The same day, NBC correspondent David Bloom died south of Baghdad from a pulmonary embolism.
April 7 -- Christian Liebig, a journalist for Germany's Focus magazine, and Julio Anguita Parrado, a reporter for Spain's El Mundo newspaper, died alongside U.S. soldiers when they came under Iraqi fire south of Baghdad.
April 8 -- Jose Couso, a cameraman for Spain's Tele Cinco, and Taras Protsyuk, a Ukrainian television cameraman for Reuters, died when U.S. forces fired on the Palestine Hotel in Baghdad. The same day, Tariq Ayoub, a Jordanian journalist for Qatar-based Al Jazeera, died when his Baghdad office came under coalition fire.
April 14 -- Mario Podesta and Verónica Cabrera, Argentine freelance reporters working for the Argentine television station America TV, died following a car crash near Baghdad.
